Solace 03:10
Morning rain just falling Foggy window I'm hiding "Look at wet green grass shine" you whisper "Stay here, don't be wild" says the other uuuu solace uuuu solace uuuu solace Find your solace... Embrace the mist in your mind Take a sip tea with chamomile Find solace in yourself for a while Close my eyes start recalling Find my cerulean at ceiling Chronos bring me flew Dive my head on the morning dew Morning dew.. Find solace in me Not in you.. Embrace the mist in your mind Take a sip tea with chamomile Find solace in yourself for a while

about

Pale Skies embodies dream pop shoegaze bliss with “Solace”. Such vast space is explored in these thoughtful gestures. With a mere voice and a guitar, a whole world comes into view, one that feels fully lived-in and beloved. Verses too, add to the pastoral vision of the work, with every word carefully chosen for maximum impact. The way it has a delicacy to it gives it such warmth, one that wraps itself completely around the listener. Her ability to convey so much depth works wonders, drawing up imagery of the ambient side of Mojave3, even of slowcore bands like Low. For there is nothing here that is overly showy; it is in the restraint that the song truly shines.

From the very beginning the song wafts on up into the sky. Everything takes its time. Patience is of the essence. Her voice has a majesty to it, understated, but still very much there. By bringing the many elements together, she manages to craft something that possesses so much color. Everything here hangs in balance to a large degree, almost suspended in the air. Little details and shifts make the song a living, breathing creature. Rhythms emerge out of this cyclical tact, one that lends it a meditative aspect. Ambience recalls even a little bit of Dean Roberts’ mastery with the instrument, as there is a highly unique take on the sounds evolution.

“Solace” shows off Pale Skies’ uncanny ability to deliver a sound that has a grandeur to it.
